Believers should try to have a daily intake of the Word of God.

How do we identify the genuine Word of God? We must do careful “due diligence.”

The Devil repudiated God’s Word in the Garden of Eden, deceiving Eve, and leading Adam to disobey God.

Sin and death then entered the world (See the New Testament passage Romans 5). This is called "The Fall."  The Lord Jesus Christ redeems us from this FALL. 

But, the Devil, though defeated by Jesus Christ, with his sinless holy life and innocent atoning death, is still pressing hard with his evil deceptions. 

Modern Bible versions claim to make the Bible more readable.  But under this “cover story” the Devil is putting mischief into these versions.  

The term "bible" might be better than "version" because the King James Bible or Version and other old bibles are based on different manuscripts, as apposed to the new bibles.

I prayed and asked the Lord to show me the truth of this “version thing”, and which version He wants me to use. 

I prayed on the basis of 1 John 5:14,15:

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

God made good on His promise and has given me great insight. 

He has led me to mainly use the old, regular, King James Version or Bible (KJV or KJB), while using modern versions for comparison.

Most of the churches read or preach from modern versions. I follow along in my KJB.

This way I become aware of the differences, and I can check them out later.

There are hundreds, even thousands, of differences.  Some seem small, but there is a cumulative effect.  Some differences are quite substantial. 

The Word of God is not ink on a page, but we must be very diligent to have accurate Bibles.

God indwells believers through the Holy Ghost (Spirit). 

1Corinthians 3:16 says: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  He leads us into truth --

John16:13:  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  

The New Testament book of John chapter 1 shows us that Jesus IS the Word of God in person --

1John5:7 refers to this truth also.  He indwells believers through the Holy Ghost (Spirit) and shepherds them as in the above verse.

God looks to the man that trembles at his word (Isaiah 66).  

THERE IS ANOTHER OLD BIBLE -- The Geneva Bible (1599).  This was the favorite of the American Pilgrims and of very many Europeans. 

It predated the KJB (1611) by about 11 years, and acts as a kind of check, an important additional witness. 

So the two together give us great confidence we have received God's Word, reliably.

The Bible makes us “wise unto salvation.” 

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Tim 3:15-17). 

Notice “from a child” is mentioned.  Parents should read the bible to their children, or with their children, each day.  

It is a great practice to do a little reading at every meal. 

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32). “Sanctified” means redeemed persons. 

Web sites like Bible Gateway allow the viewer to compare several Bible versions at once, to see differences. 

I also like Blue Letter Bible which gives technical insight into the meaning of Bible words. 

I also like the Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset, and David Brown Commentary (1871). 

Darwinian-Evolution theory has caused a tsunami of faulty reasoning to engulf our language, literature, and culture.  This predates the tsunami.

The JFB commentary dates from 1871, and the King James Bible from 1611, with a revision of archaic word spellings in the KJB about 1830.  I mentioned the Geneva Bible from 1599 in this regard, too, above.

So, all these PREDATE this defective reasoning.  

Prayer is very important to understanding God’s Word.

King David said in Psalm 119:18: Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness, which is, God is manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

By contrast, the "Critical Greek Text," from which modern versions are translated, is a far looser family. 

It does consist of somewhat older manuscripts. But these texts vary between themselves much much more that do those of the Traditional Text.

Many "experts" believe the Bible comes to us by lucky history and favor older texts.  This is very wrong. 

The Bible comes to us through God’s providential transmission protection. The Traditional text IS IT. 

The Traditional Text matches this truth.  

God showed me in John 17:18-20 that Jesus is plainly saying that the Bible would come down through history WITH his true believers.   

This is NOT true of the Critical Text.  The Vaticanus manuscript was lost in the Vatican library for something like 1000 years.  The Sinaticus manuscript was supposedly found in a waste basket in the Monastery on Mt Sinai. 

These two texts DID NOT come down through history WITH Christian usage.  

Thus, God is indicating that the Traditional Text is the authentic Greek Text of the New Testament.

In modern versions including the New King James, which was suppose to just fix the KJB, the last verse in Eph5 is just plain falsified. 

KJB is correct: “see that the wife reverence her husband.”

This is changed to “respect” her husband in the NKJV.  The Greek word is “fobia.”  It means “fear,” NOT respect. 

Besides this, you have the direct parallel, Christ the head of the Church, the man the head of the wife. 

In direct parallel we “reverence” Christ, NOT “respect” him!  The context makes it clear. 

Modern bibles are commercial products.  They are forced into becoming more and more “politically correct.”  They must compete with one another for "market share."

The KJB will say, “Gave up the ghost” when someone dies, the modern versions say "he breathed his last." 

The word for air and spirit are the same in Greek, so they get away with this.

But, the 800 pound gorilla thing IS, that your soul and spirit depart at death for somewhere?

This is what we must think about and prepare!  It’s dumb to focus on “breathing our last.

The correct understanding is a supernatural one as the KJB understands, NOT a naturalistic one as modern bibles wrongly suppose.

Three passages show three men coming to Christ -- that is, right before our eyes.  In the KJV they’re strong, but very much weakened in modern versions.
