A viewer's comment to one of the many electric/plasma YouTube videos (Plasma Universe) series is:

"The plasma universe is currently enjoying success as a 'Big-Bang basher.'

In due course, its own weaknesses will begin receiving more attention.

The lesson is clear: Creationists should be especially cautious about accommodating new science ideas, even if they oppose evolutionary models like the Big Bang.

The replacement may be even worse than the original problem!

I agree caution is always warranted!

Nevertheless many prominent, technically competent people are lining up on the electric - plasma universe side, both creationists and others.

Gravity is a weak force -- not nearly strong enough to hold galaxies together, cause matter to come together to form stars, or even to form planets, moons, etc.

Thus, ad hoc (smoke and mirrors) features must be alleged to exist, or added to the gravity model to make it seem viable.

Plasma, an ionized gas, is a fourth state of matter, along with liquid, solid and gas.

Fluorescent lights, neon lights, Aurora Borealis, are said to be plasma in glow mode, lightning is said to be plasma in arc mode.

The Sun's corona is plasma.

Cosmology in Crisis, another YouTube video notes, as do other sites, that:

95%+ of the mass necessary to make the gravity model work, is missing - so "Missing Mass," or "Dark Matter," must be said to exist, when no one can actually find it by any actual, observable means.

Likewise "black holes," "neutron stars," an expanding "Big Bang" universe, none of which are actually proven to exist, must be said to exist to make the entrenched Gravity model work.

Magnetic fields are only caused by flow of electric current,

The Gravitational model cannot explain the numerous magnetic fields detected in space by radio telescopes and space probes.

The above site says, "In order to understand the phenomenon in a certain plasma region, it is necessary to map not only the magnetic, but also the electric field and electric currents."

Another site, the Electric Universe Theory (site) also highlights the importance of electricity throughout the Universe.

It also notes many existing natural electrical phenomena, like, lightning, St Elmo's Fire, the Sun's corona, the Aurora Borealis, etc. -- all known properties of plasmas (ionized "gases").

Plasmas make up an astonishing 99.999% of the visible universe, and react strongly to electro-magnetic fields.

Quite a statement -- that plasma makes up almost the entire visible universe!

The electric plasma universe makes it possible to reconcile Biblical chronology with science.

All earth or cosmos dating methods involve unprovable assumptions.

In a following section, I cite Barry Setterfield's view that changing cosmic conditions have caused changing light speed and atomic run rates, so that Biblical dating accords with what we actually KNOW from science.

Several sites bring up the subject of the "peer review" procedure in science publishing.

One site commented on the "peer-review" thing -- that in quiet times it works well, but NOT in revolutionary times, where fierce competition and strong passions may put reviewers under great pressure to conform to standard theory.

Electric force is literally zillions of times stronger than gravity and seems clearly, much better able to explain many features of cosmology than the gravity model.

As in other "origins" issues, there are folks with lots of credentials and experience on BOTH sides of the issue.

So, there is, I suspect, a big spiritual component, of course.

Is it possible that an Electric cosmos seems much harder to envision as originating from naturalistic accident, than the standard Gravity and matter cosmos model?

It seems hard to envision the complex electric plasma cosmos as not carefully made.

With the standoff between the two sides, lay folks can boldly rejoice, or breathe a sigh of relief, in a sense, and fully realize, that no one has the "market cornered".

As one speaker said, "Just when we think we have it all figured out, some new surprise pops up, and we must again realize, it is another part of a big puzzle we only thought we understood.

Perhaps we should remember, and chuckle, at Mark Twain's comment on science.

Mark Twain said, "There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of facts."

Nevertheless "duty calls" to God and fellow man, that we work to resolve things.

There are many YouTube videos and other great web sites on the subject.

In the following sections I point to two Christian men, experts in the science of the Cosmos, and also, in the Bible.

As I have said so loudly at this site, one MUST put the Bible and Science together.

This is just like jury duty

These two and many others speak of the great resistance to change of the establishment, even in light of seriously contradictory data and observations,

Several times I have seen serious scientists quote Lewis Carroll.

From Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland we remember:

"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."

"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day.

Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

The point these scientists are making is that entrenched science can come to be just as silly, postulating impossible things to try to salvage a favorite theory.

Perhaps the Electric/plasma cosmos paradigm shift will clear out some of this foolishness.

Dr. Chuck Missler, a well established Christian speaker, U.S. Navel Academy graduate with lots of technical background and a genuine Bible scholar, has a great YouTube series Electric Universe.

Nine parts, but don't panic, only about 10 minutes each.

Parts 1-4 are terrific in bringing us up to speed on the history of science and Cosmology.

Parts 5-8 zero in on the Electric/plasma universe model specifically, with much great detail.

I do recommend this series.

Note: Many YouTube videos like Plasma Universe mentioned above are more concise, but Missler's series is very comprehensive, with excellent detail, and with indispensable Biblical connection.

His extensive teaching ministry is Koinonia House.

Most everything that he learned about astronomy in college has turned out to be wrong, he says.

He reviews the history of cosmology showing the quest of many to bypass obstacles and get to the truth.

Reminds me again of Mark Twain's remarks on science that I quoted before.

Missler notes that 96% or universe is said to be dark matter or dark energy and cannot be directly seen.

This is due to the extreme weakness of gravity, being the only force considered in the standard viewpoint, and the need to "invent" this dark matter, black holes, neutron stars and other devices to salvage the failing gravity model.

He nails the "peer review" practice as deceptive, manipulative, and oftentimes counterproductive to the quest for the truth.

He says that science is virtually its own religion with its own priesthood.

He says the greatest cosmological discovery of the 20th century, and a very big one, is that the universe is FINITE, not infinite.

He notes that modern astronomers don't, unfortunately, learn James Clark Maxwell's famous equations and discoveries in electro magnetics, and thus, they are stuck, as it were, to the standard gravity model.

They are ill equippted, and likely ill inclined, to consider in any serious way, the electric plasma model.

Interestingly he notes a rift that occurred in the last century, between cosmologists from high latitude countries like Sweden, Norway, etc., and, say, their British counterparts.

He thinks this is due to the prominent Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) in those higher latitudes -- that those scientists were thus prompted to investigate.

Their investigations led to their formulation, and promotion of the electrical-plasma cosmos model.

Hannes Alfven, Swedish electrical engineer, Nobel Prize winner, is deemed, the father of plasma cosmology.

Birkeland currents, which transport electricity in the plasma of space are named after Norwegian scientist Kristian Birkeland, seven times Nobel prize nominee, who first gave us understanding of the Aurora Borealis.

Missler make the important point, as have most others that electric plasma phenomenon can readily be studied in the laboratory.

And further the experiments can effectively be scaled up, by computer simulation to cosmic proportions.

This has allowed extremely valuable confirmation of many many electric plasma phenomenons.

This is not possible with the gravity model.

Infrared radio astronomy has also greatly advanced the frontiers of this science by making electro-magnetic plasma phenomenon much more directly viewable.

Missler's specialty is in information science.

He says this function lies at the frontier of sciences.

I think that as God is the great almighty creator, there must be immense input of information to make the universe operate according to his will.

Perhaps this explains some of the preference some folks have to the gravity model.

Missler indicates that cosmology tends to be the "Queen of the sciences," and thus tends to impose subordination on other science disciplines, as it, supposedly, gives the "big picture," into which they must fit.

Missler favorably mentions Barry Setterfield and his work with anomalies of the cosmos.

Shows a young cosmos -- decreasing speed of light (c) -- atomic run rates decrease by same curves.

Barry Setterfield is a tremendous scientific researcher and expert in the Bible. His site is Setterfield.org.

His quest to get to the truth about certain anomalies he saw in nature has led him to great and valuable understanding.

His Basic Summary at his web page Setterfield Simplified brings these five related anomalies within our grasp.

If the reader will really get a grasp on this subject, I think this video is a MUST.

It resolves the issue, tying the five anomalies together in a really satisfying way.

In the chart above, light speed, atomic run rates and red shift all follow the curve being drastically higher in the early days of the cosmos.

This means that radiometrically determined earth/cosmos ages should be drastically revised (in terms of our calendar years determined by orbiting celestial bodies) and the result, as Setterfield indicates, is that the Biblical dating of the cosmos at less than 10,000 years is thus vindicated.

Light from the most distant stars could have arrived quickly, not taking, millions or billions of years to arrive on earth.

But, I encourage the reader to finish this page first as more important detail follows.

Also, note that Setterfield says that the same cosmic factors that effect light speed also affect the run-rate of atoms and thus, both of these things bear on assessing the age of the earth or cosmos and comparing that to Biblical chronology.

Setterfield says that the data puts the Cosmos' and Earth's ages within the Biblical time frame, when these anomalies are resolved and the right historical, cosmic conditions are applied.

A much fuller picture may be obtained by reading Setterfield Simplified as noted above.

His Basic Summary is well worth reading also.

Setterfield ties these anomalies to Zero Point Energy (ZPE).

ZPE is the unexplained energy still present in a vacuum at a temperature of absolute zero.

Setterfield believes this energy was imparted by God in the beginning and sustains atomic activity.

Setterfield understands there are about 12 Bible verses where God is said to have "stretched out the heavens," in the beginning.

Setterfield believes this act of God put power into the cosmos which sustains its ongoing operation.

Here are some of those verses (his full list of stretched heaven verses):

Isa 42:5:

Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

Isa 45:12:

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

Isa 51:13:

And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

Jer 10:12:

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

Setterfield says God upholds the universe through this zero point energy.

Hebrews1:

²Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Hebrews 1 also shows the very temporal nature of the cosmos:

¹⁰And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
¹¹They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
¹²And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

Wikipedia says, regarding absolute zero:

The zero point of any thermodynamic temperature scale, such as Kelvin or Rankine, is set at absolute zero.

By international agreement, absolute zero is defined as 0K on the Kelvin scale and as −273.15° on the Celsius scale.

This equates to −459.67° on the Fahrenheit scale and 0 R on the Rankine scale.

Scientists have achieved temperatures very close to absolute zero, where matter exhibits quantum effects such as superconductivity and superfluidity.

Setterfield begins his Basic Summary with the following:

"What you are in for here: The results of Barry’s research so far deal with two main categories: the five anomalies and plasma physics. An anomaly is data (or facts) which don’t agree with a theory. Suppose I said all dogs are black. That was my theory. Then you showed me a white or tan dog. I would have a choice. I could declare what you showed me was not a dog or I could change my theory. Science comes up against this constantly. Unfortunately, in some fields, the theory takes precedence over any conflicting data and the conflicting data is ignored, ridiculed, excused away, or all three.

Five anomalies in astronomy and physics which Barry has found standard science refuses to deal with straightforwardly are

The speed of light changing
The changing mass of subatomic particles
The quantization of the red shift
The measured changes in something called Planck’s Constant
The fact that the atomic clock, as measured by atomic processes, does not run at the same rate as our orbital clock, or the way we measure time by our motion through space.

In looking at these problems, Barry found they were all the ‘children’ of one ‘parent:’ something called the Zero Point Energy.

So the first part of this basic summary will deal with the Zero Point Energy and its affect on these anomalies, as well as what conclusions are somewhat inescapable as a result.

As far as plasma physics is concerned, it is not as scary as the name sounds. Right now the accepted model for universe formation and maintenance depends on the actions of gravity. However gravity is a very weak force – you defy it every time you pick something up. Because it is so weak, physicists who believe gravity is the controlling force in the universe find themselves having to invent dark matter, dark energy, and dark force to account for what they are seeing. By way of contrast, what we have learned about plasma shows that everything we see ‘out there’ is to be expected from the way plasma behaves, and the evidence we have is that the entire universe is filled with the stuff."

Just like a jury trial, one must match up testimony and physical evidences to get to the right answers.

The two men I cited above did just that.

Psalm 19 is an excellent Bible example.

God's witness in and through his creation is the starting place.

Then, God's words, in the Scriptures, must be integrated together.

See how the two combine to produce that consecrated heart in the psalmist, who is King David.
