I cite a second science paper, Alcohol and mortality in middle-aged men from eastern France is from the Journal Epidemiology. 1998 Mar;9(2):184-8.

Their Abstract states, "A moderate intake of wine (2-5 glasses per day) was associated with a 24-31% reduction in all-cause mortality, a proportion that was similar for smokers, ex-smokers, and nonsmokers."

Again they are talking about 5 ounce glasses, and they too, claim a confidence level of 95%.

This work was aired on CBS "60 Minutes" in 1991 -- see Wikipedia article French paradox.

The program resulted in something of a run on red wine.

Needless to say this amazing medicinal ability of wine has attracted God's enemies in counter attack.

The Wikipedia article above cites some of them.

The Devil is too smart to attack wine directly, but will, wrongfully, categorize it with all, "alcohol" beverages.

The forces of evil are working very hard to block folks from knowing about the powerful evidence wine shows.

From the chart above it is obvious that wine, beer and spirits (hard alcohol) are very different things.

But, health care workers lump them all together as, alcohol. 

This is very very wrong, statistically, scientifically, and medically. 

I think I can even legitimately call it "junk science."

The purpose, is really, to hid the special, spectacular, healing benefit that wine has - which only God alone could make, which testify so powerfully for Christianity.

There is a Slavic Baptist Church not far from my home in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.

I do not speak Russian, but I though I could just sit in unnoticed and observe.

But as I got, perhaps 30 feet from the door, I chickened out, and started to turn around.

But, the Pastor spotted me, and motioned me to come on in.

He assigned a nice young woman to translate for me.

It was all good.

But, I did ask about their communion, or Lord's Supper.

It seemed to be restricted to their own church members.

But, it is definitely was bread and wine, not grape juice.

My impression is that most Christians throughout the world use bread and wine.

It is only, primarily in the US that one finds grape juice in use.

It is also my belief that children should be reared in a home where wine is used responsible, to include use by older children.

It seems clear this was the practice in the Bible.

The idea that a young person should not touch a drop of alcohol until they turn 21 years old, is insane.

The Old Testament wisdom passage in Proverbs 22 says:

⁶ Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Children need to be "trained up" in the right practices, not be forced to sink or swim at the age of 21.

Many young Americans partake in "under-age" drinking parties - this is commonplace.

But, how stupid that they must do this outside of a good home culture to guide and direct them.

I find very interesting a section from the first article I referenced.  I highlight one portion.

"POSSIBLE PROTECTIVE FACTORS IN WINE APART FROM ETHANOL

The results strongly suggest that, in addition to the common effect of ethanol, there are—within the studied range of drinking—different factors influencing health in the three types of drink. Specifically, the results raise the question of what might be the protective agent in wine or the damaging factors in beer and spirits apart from ethanol. The decreased mortality in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease among beer drinkers may reflect a common effect of ethanol on high density lipoprotein or fibrinolytic factors.23 Furthermore, an inverse relation has been found between alcohol intake and platelet aggregability,24 and, in agreement with our results, this relation has been shown to be even stronger for wine.25 Our finding, that only wine drinking clearly reduces both the risk of dying from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease and the risk of dying from other causes, suggests that other more broadly acting factors in wine may be present. Antioxidants and flavonoids, which are presumed to prevent both coronary heart disease and some cancers,26 27 may be present in red wine. It has also been suggested that tannin and other phenolic compounds in red wine may have a protective effect.28 29

The number of drinks indicating the lowest risk on the alcohol-mortality risk function, as well as the thresholds of safe drinking, differs from study to study, and this variation may be due to differences between countries with regard to type of drinks consumed.

During the past 15 years mortality from coronary heart disease has declined by about 30% in Denmark.30 This decrease cannot be ascribed to a rise in alcohol intake, which has been more or less stable during that period. On the other hand, with the opening of the European market, drinking patterns have changed quite dramatically in favour of wine drinking. In 1975 wine contributed to 17.3% of the total alcohol intake, rising to 30.2% in 1992,31 which, in accordance with our findings, may have contributed to the decline in death from coronary heart disease.

In conclusion, our study shows that light and moderate wine drinking, in contrast with beer and spirits drinking, is associated with a strong dose dependent decrease in all cause mortality, attributable to a decrease in mortality from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease as well as from other causes. The biological mechanism behind the different effects of the three types of drinks needs further research.
